Released to celebrate the Verrill Farm Centennial in 2018, our book is a blend of family, farm & Concord history along with 80 favorite Verrill Farm kitchen recipes.

'Writing this cookbook fulfills our long-standing plan to share the recipes people have asked for,' says Jennifer Verrill Faddoul, adding, 'publishing it in 2018 memorializes the farm's 100 year past as we look toward the future!'

This is the perfect gift for cookbook lovers, locals & visitors who want to take home a taste of Concord!

A Farm Grows in Concord began as a recorded oral history of a family, a farm and a town. There were so many stories to tell that it quickly grew into a book. The result is a 176-page, 100 year history of three generations of farmers including reflections on growth, adversity and success. Photographs accompany the history and the 80 favorite recipes from the Verrill Farm kitchen.

The story starts with Amy and Floyd Verrill and a herd of 30 cows; the farm is now all produce with a farmstand sitting among acres of crops and a modern kitchen producing an extensive and sought after selection of prepared food and baked goods. Recipes for many are featured in the book.

In the end, however, the most significant and least visible legacy of the Verrills will be the preservation of the farmland through an Agricultural Preservation Restriction Program. Their 200 acres of land can only be used for farming, even if it changes hands. The Verrills gave up the opportunity to sell their land but they protected the life, and the land, that they know and love. A Farm Grows in Concord is their story.
